Very frustrating experience with the Vet techs! The blonde vet assistant kept scruffing my cat to keep him from moving. I’ve seen many vets before and this is the first time I’ve seen them act so aggressive and confident for holding down my cat. I warned her that my cat has long nails and hates being constrained. I told the two techs to be careful with the blood work since they wanted to take his blood in another room. They came back acting upset that my cat almost bit them. But when the doctor and I were in the room doing it calmly. He patiently did his tests. I’m so upset with them poorly handling my cat. The only reason I’m giving them any stars is because the doctor was actually nice and stopped the vet techs from interrupting me from speaking. This is a very expensive place with a single blood test being 280 and EKG being 295. They also do a medical waste cost of almost 10 dollars. Not fecal exam, just discarding their syringes and medical items. Please train your staff to be compassionate, saying sorry then roughly handling your animal is so upsetting. I won’t be returning.

Don’t go here for travel certificates. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the process and booked me for a consultation first. After that, I was told I would need to come back again and pay well above the market rate. The consultation was $100. For a Hawaii health certificate, which does not require USDA approval, they quoted $431. This is essentially a basic health check, confirmation of flea and tick prevention, and a signed document. The health check had already been done during the consultation. It’s unclear who at the clinic is actually competent to handle travel certificates, which added to the confusion and back-and-forth. Overall, the process felt inefficient, poorly explained, and overpriced.

I never leave bad reviews for anyone but I have to cause I had the most terrible experience with the vet here and the staff. Do think twice before bringing your pet here, I got my dog here for vaccines, the staff made me hold the leash, even suggested I help them put the vaccination for my dog cause my dog barked and wiggled when they came closer. Dogs bark, and especially if they are scared. As vets you should know that. They kept giving me sedatives to give my dog before bringing him there and kept postponing the appointment. They are extremely incapable and incompetent to handle a pet. The vet himself is extremely paranoid and lacks experience along with his technician/ nurse who abandons first. The receptionist was helpful but that’s it. The vets lack experience so please don’t waste your time or money

My cat died in relation to this incident by the way ….. Nicole the receptionist refused to let me speak with or hear from the doctor. The doctor also refused to take a break from making phone calls to determine whether or not he can see my cat. I’ve been being seen at this hospital for a few months now and every time I need to schedule an appointment they have no availability for weeks and suggest other hospitals in the area or the emergency group. My cat has a known history or gastrointestinal issues and has been in distress for days following an incident Newport is aware of. I’ve already taken him once to the emergency hospital this week with 0 help from Newport. They have no regard for the well-being or health of the animals they treat and only consider their precious schedules (which by the way change every week) they work hours as if they aren’t in the medical field but rather an arbitrary office job. This place is a joke. Go somewhere else in the area there are plenty more hospital to choose from
